Lead Automation / Framework Engineer

We at devspiration are seeking a Lead Automation / Framework Engineer to join our team.
This role provides an opportunity to drive automation excellence on a large-scale modular & microservices ecosystem for an enterprise-level client- one of the "Big Four" professional financial services firms. 

LOCATION: 

Lviv, Ukraine (onsite at a brand-new office in BC "Natsionalnyy") and remote working option 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Leadership & Collaboration 

  • Lead and mentor QA automation engineers, ensuring high-quality delivery and effective teamwork. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to align automation strategy and priorities. 

Framework & Automation Development 

  • Architect, develop, and maintain reusable automation frameworks for modular and microservices-based systems. 
  • Design and implement automated tests (UI, API, database) using Playwright, Selenium, and modern tooling. 
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and ensure stability across multiple environments. 

Technical Excellence 

  • Optimize frameworks for performance, scalability, and maintainability. 
  • Perform root cause analysis, troubleshoot automation failures, and support developers in defect resolution. 
  • Conduct code reviews and enforce engineering best practices. 

Innovation & Continuous Improvement 

  • Drive adoption of modern automation techniques, including AI/LLM-enabled testing where beneficial. 
  • Identify opportunities to improve test coverage, processes, and automation efficiency. 
  • Lead POCs and contribute to the evolution of tools, frameworks, and testing strategies. 

 

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • 7+ years in QA Automation, including 3+ years in a lead or framework engineering role. 
  • Strong C# programming skills are essential, additional languages are beneficial. 
  • Strong hands-on experience with automation tools: PlaywrightSelenium (Cypress as a plus). 
  • Experience building and maintaining automation frameworks for microservices / distributed systems. 
  • Strong understanding of UI, API, and database testing, including SQL proficiency. 
  • Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI). 
  • Familiarity with DevOps tooling (Docker, Kubernetes — as a plus). 
  • Experience with Git-based version control and modern IDEs. 
  • Understanding of Agile practices; SAFe experience is a plus. 
  • Experience with AI/LLM-assisted automation — optional but beneficial. 
  • English: Upper-Intermediate or higher
